• Staying: Standard (Camping with share facilities).
• 3 X Permanent Campsites - have permanently erected tents (multi-share), permanent cooking facilities and purpose-built fire pits, screened eating areas, share showers and toilets. Tents are generally 4 share in the Top End and generally twin share in the red centre and passengers supplied with these original Australian bushman's swags. Campsites share showers & toilets. Sleeping Bags can be hired at time of booking for $30 for the tour per person.

• 1 X Bush Campsite - Camps used are 'bush camp' style in swags and dome tents with limited facilities. Bush Camps - no facilities other than those that are carried on the vehicle. Passengers sleep in swags (Aussie bedroll). Dry season at Gunlom Falls.

We use our coaches in locations where there are large driving distances on sealed roads as the larger vehicles provide greater comfort. In all other circumstances, we focus on providing a small group experience with an average maximum group size of 16.
4WD   © 4WD Canter Mitsubishi or Isuzu - 16 seats front facing air-conditioned vehicle. Our 4WD’s (16 - 20 seaters) have spacious cabs with ample legroom and forward facing seats for increased comfort and a view for appreciation of the scenery. A 4WD vehicle will be used on Kakadu section.

Itinerary: day by day


Day 1 - Darwin to Litchfield
Kick off your five day adventure by checking out the waterfalls of Litchfield National Park. Enjoy lunch before heading to the spectacular Mary River Wetlands, where birds aren't the only wildlife to be seen. Keep a watch for lurking crocodiles on our river cruise! Our exclusive campsite in the Mary River Region is where we'll stay tonight. (LD)

Day 2 - Mary River to Kakadu
Discover ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr and clamber to the top of a rocky lookout for fabulous views over the Nardab floodplain. Next it's on to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) where a short hike is rewarded with a swim in the plunge pools. Tonight we stay at our permanent camp in Kakadu National Park. (BLD)

Day 3 - Kakadu National Park
Get ready for some 4WD action today because we're off to Jim Jim Falls! Once we get there, we'll hike to the base of this magnificent 200m natural wonder before continuing on to Twin Falls. Take in the beauty of the gorge on a national park operated boat and boardwalk experience. Stop in at the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre this afternoon to learn about local Indigenous culture. We get to our campsite at Gunlom just in time to see the vibrant colours of the tropical sunset take over the evening sky. (BLD)

Day 4 - Kakadu to Katherine Gorge
Climb to the top of Gunlom Falls this morning and marvel at the stunning views from the top! Next we head off to Edith Falls where you can cool down with another refreshing swim. Tonight we'll be sleeping at our permanent campsite near Katherine Gorge. (BLD)

Day 5 - Katherine Gorge to Darwin
We spend the morning at the majestic Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park. Relax and enjoy the serenity. Want to see more? Take a cruise along the gorge or rent a canoe and paddle yourself downstream. These options are seasonal and at your own expense. After lunch we start our journey back to Darwin. (BL)
